The news of Rusti being pregnant surprised Megan.
It was a pleasant surprise, of course, to learn that she would become a grandmother. However, learning who the father was worried Megan. She herself knew of Caleb's blood. However, clearly, Rusti didn't. So when Caleb asked Rusti to marry him and Rusti accepted, Megan knew things wouldn't turn out well.
When the wedding was scheduled, Megan didn't attend. Her excuse was that 'Someone had to stay and attend to Elaine'. Rusti returned from the cancled wedding in tears.
After, Megan found herself having to care more and more for little Eliane as Rusti chose her career over anything else.
